Chapter 2: The Difference That Makes The Difference
“It’s a funny thing about life; if you refuse to accept anything but the best, you very often get it.” ~W. Somerset Maugham
Chapter two is very interesting because Tony Robbins presents a very unique method to producing the results you want and making your desires real. This method is called modeling. Basically, modeling is when you observe, learn from, and copy the thoughts, beliefs, actions and behaviors of those who have the things you desire. For example, if you desire financial freedom you would emulate someone successful like Warren Buffet. Keep in mind that modeling only goes as far as you do. If you’re not committed to changing your thoughts and behaviors to match those who you desire to be like, then modeling will not work.
Secondly, he explains a science that connects language, verbal and nonverbal, to our nervous system and brain called Neuro-Linguistic Programming or NLP. It provides a systematic framework for directing our own brain and what we communicate to ourselves. As you can see, Tony Robbins makes another big emphasis on communication and how it strongly connects to our successes in life!
Following this post will be a closer analyzation of what Tony Robbins is saying in chapter two along with a reflection for your own mental take!
