Basically what Emerson was getting at is that, in order to succeed and be successful, you have to do the things that make you happy. In order to feel that fulfillment that success brings you, you yourself have to put meaning in the small day to day things that you do such as keeping a garden or being a parent to a healthy child. He’s saying success comes when you appreciate the little things around you. He’s saying success comes when you touch even one person’s’ life before you leave the world. He’s saying success is the result of all the knowledge you acquire from life’s experiences- which, by the way, come from your ability to learn from other people. Most importantly, he’s saying success looks different for every single person in this world.
What does success look like for you?
